Orienteering Team
Overview
The NJROTC Orienteering Team challenges cadets to combine physical endurance, critical thinking, and teamwork. Team members represent the unit by navigating outdoor courses while competing against time and other teams.
Orienteering builds confidence, resilience, and problem-solving skills while developing cadets’ ability to perform under pressure in unfamiliar environments.
What Is Orienteering?
Orienteering is a competitive activity that requires cadets to navigate a course using a map and compass. Cadets must locate checkpoints in the correct order while choosing efficient routes and managing time effectively.
