Marksmanship Team

Overview

The NJROTC Marksmanship Team develops cadets through discipline, focus, and responsibility. Team members learn the fundamentals of marksmanship while emphasizing safety, self-control, and respect at all times.

Using air rifles under strict supervision, cadets train to improve accuracy and consistency while representing the unit in a competitive environment.

What Is Marksmanship?

Marksmanship is the skill of accurately and safely firing a rifle at a target. In NJROTC, marksmanship is taught as a discipline that builds:

  • Concentration and patience

  • Self-discipline and control

  • Responsibility and safety awareness

Safety is the top priority in every practice and competition. Cadets are required to:

  • Follow all safety rules and commands at all times

  • Treat every rifle with respect

  • Maintain strict discipline on the range

  • Demonstrate maturity and responsibility

Failure to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the team.
