About Us!

We are the Pine Forest High School Eagle Battalion! (Area 10)

What is NJROTC?

NJROTC is an abbreviation for "Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps." We accept cadets of all backgrounds, and transform them into respectful young adults, and help them develop skills that are crucial to navigate the world.

Enrolling your child DOES NOT entitle them to service to the United States military, however, completing 2-3 satisfactory years of NJROTC can lead to advanced promotion (pay grade E2 or E3) upon enlistment and eligibility for service academy nominations.

The official mission of NJROTC is to instill in students the Navy's values honor, courage, and commitments, and give our cadets the feelings of citizenship, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment. All of this can be narrowed down to the Cadet Creed:

"I am a Navy Junior ROTC Cadet.

I strive to promote patriotism, and become an informed and responsible citizen.

I respect those in positions of authority.

I support those who have defended freedom and democracy around the world.

I proudly embrace the Navy's core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

I  am committed to excellence and the fair treatment of all."

What happens in NJROTC?

The NJROTC or Naval Science program is split into three main categories:

The Classroom and Academics

In the classroom, cadets will learn various topics, ranging from naval history, leadership, seamanship, and wellness. Enrolling your student under Naval Science can be an amazing GPA booster, and will look outstanding on college resumes. Cadets partake in the Naval Science class during the school day, as an extracurricular.

Physical Training and Exercise

We don't just stay inside! Physical Training, or "PT", is a regular part of our activities. We reserve Wednesdays and Thursdays for rigorous sessions that get cadet's hearts pumping, and bodies into shape. Students enrolled in Naval Science will earn their Physical Education credits, meaning one less class for your student to take!

Community Service and Field Trips

Cadets regularly are given the opportunity to give back through community service projects and gain real-world experience. Students who take these trips earn community service hours that translate directly to their transcript. Along with that, we travel and hold annually scheduled events like Military Balls, and trips to military bases/ships!
